Day 1: Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut
Begin your trek at the Marangu gate (1,860 m) and walk through lush rainforests to reach Mandara Hut (2,700 m). This leg covers 8 km and takes about 4-5 hours, serving as a gentle introduction to your Kilimanjaro adventure.
Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
Ascend through moorlands to the Horombo Hut (3,720 m). Covering 12 km in about 6-8 hours, this day offers expanding views and the chance to spot unique flora like the giant lobelia and groundsels.
Day 3: Acclimatization Day at Horombo Hut
Use this day to acclimatize, exploring nearby trails or simply resting. This is crucial for enhancing your summit success rate.
Day 4: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

Day 3: Shira Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp
Trek to Lava Tower (4,630 m) for acclimatization, then descend to Barranco Camp (3,960 m) through senecio forests. This 10 km journey is pivotal for acclimatization.
Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Conquer the Barranco Wall and continue to Karanga Camp (3,995 m). This shorter 5 km trek allows for rest and acclimatization.
Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
