Welcome to Tanzania! Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be greeted by our friendly Safari Multiways team. After a warm welcome, we’ll transfer you to your accommodation in Arusha, where you can relax and prepare for the adventure ahead.
Once you’re settled, take some time to explore the vibrant streets of Arusha. You might want to try some local Tanzanian cuisine or shop for souvenirs at one of the bustling markets. Be sure to get a good night’s sleep because tomorrow marks the beginning of your Mount Kilimanjaro journey!
After a hearty breakfast, we’ll set off on a scenic drive to the Umbwe Gate, where our adventure begins! At the gate, we’ll go through the necessary registration processes and meet our dedicated climbing crew, who will be with you every step of the way. Setting out from the gate, we’ll trek through lush rainforest, surrounded by towering trees and the sounds of chirping birds.
The trail is steep and demanding, but don’t worry! Our experienced guides will ensure that you’re safe and having a great time. As we hike, keep an eye out for unique flora and fauna that call this rain-soaked wonderland home. After about a 5-7 hour trek, we’ll reach Umbwe Camp, where we’ll set up our tents and enjoy a delightful dinner under the stars.
Rise and shine! After a nourishing breakfast, we’ll continue our journey. The day starts with a steep climb through dense forest, and as we ascend, the trees begin to thin out, revealing stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
Today’s trek will take us to Barranco Camp, which is known for its spectacular views of the iconic Barranco Wall. This section of the climb is both challenging and exhilarating, as it will require some scrambling. But fear not! With our expert guides by your side, you’ll conquer this obstacle with ease.
Once we arrive at Barranco Camp, you can take a moment to relax and soak in the breathtaking scenery. Tonight’s dinner will be a delightful feast, fuel for the exciting day ahead.
Today, we’ll tackle the famous Barranco Wall! Don’t let the name scare you; it’s an exhilarating climb that offers stunning panoramic views of Kilimanjaro’s glaciers. As we ascend, you’ll feel a rush of adrenaline and excitement.
After conquering the wall, we’ll make our way to Karanga Camp, which sits at an elevation of 4,000 meters. This camp is a great spot to acclimatize and enjoy the breathtaking vistas. Take some time to relax, sip on some hot tea, and enjoy the company of your fellow adventurers.
As we continue our ascent, we’ll trek from Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp, the last stop before our summit attempt. This is a relatively short day, giving you ample time to prepare for the big climb. As we hike, you’ll notice the landscape changing as we transition from lush vegetation to alpine desert.
Upon reaching Barafu Camp, take some time to rest and hydrate. Your guides will provide a hearty meal, and we’ll review the plan for our summit attempt. Get ready for an early night as we’ll be waking up in the middle of the night to start our climb!
This is it—the day you’ve been waiting for! At around midnight, we’ll wake up, have a light breakfast, and prepare for the ascent to Uhuru Peak. The climb to the summit is challenging, with steep slopes and high altitudes, but the thrill of reaching the highest point in Africa will keep you motivated.
As we ascend, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of the stars twinkling above, and as the sun begins to rise, you’ll witness a breathtaking sunrise over the African plains. The final stretch to Uhuru Peak is a test of endurance, but with the support of your guides and fellow climbers, you’ll reach the summit!
Standing at 5,895 meters (19,341 feet) above sea level, you’ll feel an overwhelming sense of accomplishment and joy. Take some time to savor the moment, snap photos, and celebrate with your climbing crew. Afterward, we’ll begin our descent to Mweka Camp, where a warm meal and a cozy tent await you.
On our final day, we’ll enjoy a leisurely breakfast before packing up our gear for the descent to Mweka Gate. The trail winds through beautiful rainforest, and as we descend, you’ll have the opportunity to reflect on your incredible journey.
Upon reaching Mweka Gate, we’ll complete the necessary paperwork and celebrate your successful climb with a certificate presentation. Our team will then transfer you back to your accommodation in Arusha, where you can unwind and reminisce about your adventure atop Africa’s highest peak!
