After taking a moment to revel in your achievement, we’ll continue our trek toward Barafu Camp, located at an elevation of 4,680 meters (15,354 feet). The hike from Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp will take about 6-7 hours, and the terrain will vary, offering stunning views of the mountain’s glaciers and valleys.
Once at Barafu Camp, take some time to relax and prepare for the summit push. Enjoy a hearty dinner, and get plenty of rest—tonight, you’ll need all your energy for the adventure that awaits at dawn!
The day has finally arrived! At around midnight, you’ll wake up to begin your ascent to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro—Uhuru Peak! The trek will take approximately 6-8 hours as you navigate through the darkness, guided by headlamps and the shimmering stars above.
As you climb, the air becomes thinner, and every step may feel challenging, but the excitement and determination will push you forward. Reaching the summit is an incredible experience; standing atop Uhuru Peak at 5,895 meters (19,341 feet) is a moment of pure triumph!
After celebrating your achievement and snapping photos, we’ll descend to Mweka Camp, taking about 5-7 hours. The descent will be easier on your legs, and you’ll have a chance to reflect on the incredible journey you’ve just completed.
On Day 6, you’ll enjoy a leisurely breakfast before continuing your descent to Mweka Gate. The hike will take around 3-4 hours, with the lush forest surrounding you creating a magical atmosphere.
