Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania – The Gateway to Adventure
Your journey begins the moment you touch down in Tanzania. A representative from Safari Multiways will warmly welcome you at Kilimanjaro International Airport. This is the perfect time to meet your guides who will brief you on the days ahead.
Day 2: Machame Gate to Machame Camp
Altitude: 1,800m to 3,000m
Hiking Time: 5-7 hours
After an energizing breakfast, we head to the Machame Gate, where your climb officially begins! The first day on the mountain is a beautiful trek through the lush rainforests of Kilimanjaro. Keep your eyes peeled for playful monkeys and vibrant birdlife. Tonight, you sleep at Machame Camp, surrounded by the quiet whispers of the ancient forest.
Day 3: Machame Camp to Shira Camp
Altitude: 3,000m to 3,845m
Hiking Time: 4-6 hours
As the canopy thins, breathtaking views of the Shira Plateau open before you. Today’s trek is shorter but steeper, a true test of your climbing legs. As you approach Shira Camp, the entire landscape changes, showcasing the vast beauty of the moorlands. Here, under the vast African sky, you’ll feel as though you’re walking through a dream.
Day 4: Shira Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp
Altitude: 3,845m to 4,600m to 3,960m
Hiking Time: 6-7 hours
This is a pivotal day for acclimatization. You’ll ascend to the imposing Lava Tower, where the air thins and the challenge grows. After lunch at this impressive landmark, descend to Barranco Camp. Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Altitude: 4,035m to 4,640m
