wildebeest migration map

The best times to see the migration  in Tanzania are between December and March or between July and September. The migration is largely driven by the rains. Just remember that the rains are unpredictable so the wildebeest migration doesn’t operate on a set schedule. It also doesn’t follow a set route. Between December and March the migration is located in the southern Serengeti in an area known as Ndutu. After arriving from the north, females having conceived while in Masai Mara in Kenya, congregates in Ndutu till they give birth to calves. In late March/early April, they all begin the routine trek towards the north. They start crossing Mara river in early July. This is another natural specter not to be missed

The wildebeest migration documentary

Wildebeest Migration, as usual, has already started to move from south Serengeti towards the north. The crossing of Mara river is expected to start early due to the fact that the expected long rain is less than usual this year. Therefore, Mara river crossing is expected to take place in early July onwards.  Please contact us for latest information.
